Job summary

EvergreenHealth, the first Baby-Friendly hospital in America, seeks an experienced NICU Level III Nurse to join our Children’s Services. The RN will provide direct care to NICU patients, following established standards, policies, and guidelines while delivering education and advocacy.

Minimum two years NICU experience preferred; current WA RN license, BLS, PALS (pediatrics), and NRP within 4 weeks of hire are required. Strong teamwork and professional practice are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program with WA RN license.
• Current BLS certification by date of hire.
• PALS certification by date of hire for pediatrics.
• NRP certification within 4 weeks of hire.
• 1+ years of inpatient NICU RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and advocate for patients.
• Assess nursing needs of assigned patients.
• Coordinate patient and family education.
• Plan and evaluate patient care with family involvement.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams to implement care plans.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the nurse in charge.

Wage Range: $48.21 - $87.11 per hour
Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. We are seeking an experienced NICU Level III Nurse to join our Children’s Services department.

In this role, the RN is responsible for the total direct nursing care of all patients within established standards of care, hospital and unit policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Recent Level III NICU RN experience required, minimum of two (2) years preferred.

Primary Duties

1. Provides direct patient care and functions as a patient advocate.
2. Assesses the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
3. Coordinates the patient and family/significant other education process.
4. Continuously plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, incorporating patient and family/significant other into the process.
5. Participates with physician partners and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient and family/significant other plan of care.
6. Communicates effectively all relevant information (e.g., patient information, safety issues, problems with equipment, quality issues, etc.) to immediate supervisor, in timely way.
7. Communicates and documents changes in patient condition, on a timely basis, to charge nurse/supervisor and physician.
8. Accountable for following the guidelines for attendance, punctuality and overall dependability.
9. Accountable for effective performance and follow-through of all assigned responsibilities and for completing responsibilities within designated (or agreed upon) timeframes. Completes responsibilities in a manner consistent with organizational policy, goals and values.
10. Responsible for the "Accountabilities" associated with this position in support of the organization.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

License, Certification, Education or Experience

REQUIRED for the position

• Graduate of a nursing program (Nursing Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and/or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree) Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire
• Current Healthcare Provider PALS certification by date of hire (RNs working in Pediatrics only)
• NRP certification within 4 weeks of hire
• 1+ years of inpatient NICU RN experience

DESIRED for the position

• Master’s in Nursing (MSN)
• Two (2) years of recent Level III NICU RN experience preferred
