Job summary

PeaceHealth in Springfield, Oregon seeks a compassionate NICU RN for our Level III Neonatal ICU on the night shift (0.9 FTE). You will care for newborns from moderately ill to critically ill in a high-acuity, family-centered setting with ongoing education and professional development.

Requirements include Oregon RN license, 2 years of critical care with NICU experience, and NRP/BSL within 6 months; bilingual Spanish preferred. Competitive wage and night differential provided.

Qualifications

  • Two years RN experience in critical care with at least one year in NICU in last 5 years.
  • RN residents may substitute NICU training completed at PeaceHealth.
  • Experience with neonatal ventilation, CPAP, in-line pressure monitoring.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Job Details
  • Staff RN opening - 0.9 FTE, Night shift position
  • Additional Night Shift differential $9.50/hour
  • Competitive wage, $50.78- $79.78 based on experience

Education
  • Degree from an accredited School of Nursing Required
Experience
  • Two years RN experience required in critical care with at least one of those years being NICU experience, within last 5 years.
  • For RN residents: Completion of a NICU training program at PeaceHealth may substitute for this experience.
  • Prior experience with neonatal ventilation, CPAP, and in-line pressure monitoring required
  • Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
Credentials
  • Required: State of Oregon nursing license
  • Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support (NRP within 6 months of hire)

Neonatal ICU - Neonatal ICU & Special Care Nursery

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 6 months.
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. Program (STABLE) required within 6 months. Required for all except Level 3 NICU (Riverbend & Southwest preferred).
Working Conditions
Lifting
  • Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
  • Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
  • Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts).
  • Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
  • Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
  • Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently.
  • Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
Environmental Conditions
  • Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
Mental/Visual
  • Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
