Job summary

Banner Health’s New Nurse Experience (NNE) is a full-time RN residency program designed to mentor new graduates into competent, professional nurses. Trainees are clinically mentored on designated units and exposed to a range of patient populations, with multiple career pathways and development opportunities.

Participants are expected to remain on their NNE unit for at least 12 months, work three 12-hour night shifts, and live within a reasonable commute to the facility as they transition from

Qualifications

• Recent or upcoming graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license or compact license in state of practice.
• BLS certification required; ability to obtain as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care per policy.
• Develop and revise care plans with patient and family input.
• Coordinate care, supervise team activities and ensure safe communication.
• Document care and patient responses accurately in the chart.
• Participate in evidence-based practice and unit leadership activities.
• Provide patient and family education and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with physicians and care team to meet goals.
• Support continuous nursing quality improvements.
• Mentor new grads and contribute to precepting.
