Boston Medical Center (BMC) nurses are advancing practice in a Magnet-recognized setting. We are seeking an RN for the Medical Surgical - General Med Surg Unit (M6E) on a 36-hour night schedule with every other weekend/holiday.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice professional nursing in Massachusetts.
• 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS in certain units.
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), BSN within 4 years.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to perform job responsibilities.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Fluency in another language a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in Medical Surgical unit using patient-centered care model.
• Communicate with health care team, patients, and families.
• Coordinate and delegate patient care activities with colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines established by BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist leadership in quality improvement projects.
