Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is hiring a Registered Nurse for the 6 East Medical-Surgical unit. The role emphasizes patient-centered care within a supportive nursing organization and evidence-based practice. A 36-hour schedule includes Nights with weekend/holiday shifts.

You will deliver comprehensive nursing care, collaborate with the health care team, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to uphold high standards and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.
• 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
• Certification in BLS; ACLS required in certain units.
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
• Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certification may be required for certain areas.
• Effective verbal and written communication and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records; enter and interpret computerized data.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist leadership in quality improvement projects.
