RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical Unit III (8 South) at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ. The role is full-time with day shifts and a 36-hour weekly schedule, focusing on acute care, documentation, and collaborative patient management.

Ideal candidates hold an NJ RN license, BLS, ACLS within six months, and a BSN is strongly preferred. Behavioral health experience and EPIC EMR familiarity are advantageous for success.

Qualifications

• NJ RN license in good standing (or multistate license with NJ Endorsement) and current BLS; ACLS within six months of hire.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred; graduation from an accredited School of Nursing required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes, intervene early, advocate for patients.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care grounded in clinical judgment.
• Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, supporting timely, well-coordinated care decisions.
• Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families for informed, prepared care decisions.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the EMR to promote continuity and patient safety.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to smooth transitions of care.
• Collaborate in a highly team-oriented environment to improve patient outcomes.
• Organize and deliver age-appropriate care on the assigned unit; participate in discharge planning and patient teaching.
