Corewell Health is seeking an RN to join the Taylor Hospital Short Stay Unit. The role involves delivering patient-centered nursing care, assessing needs, and coordinating discharge planning under the Nurse Leader. You will collaborate with providers and staff to ensure safety and quality outcomes.

Requirements include an RN license in Michigan, an associates or diploma in nursing, and BLS; ACLS/TNCC/ENPC are expected within specified timelines. Full-time, day shift, 36 weekly hours.

Qualifications

• Associates or Diploma in Nursing required.
• Bachelors in Nursing required within 5 years if new graduate/nurse with less than one year experience.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
• Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have NCLEX licensure.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• TNCC within 1 year of hire/transfer.
• ENPC within 15 months of hire/transfer.
• Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process and patient-family centered care principles.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge with guidance from Nurse Leader.
• Collaborate with care team to ensure quality patient outcomes and teach patient/family.

About The Unit

Taylor is a 9 bed Short Stay Unit. Our Short Stay Unit provides services for a diverse patient population from Oakland, Monroe, and Wayne County. Our leadership model is Servant Leadership. We base all actions for patients and staff on two primary goals: Treat everyone with respect and dignity and to Treat others as we would want to be treated. The Taylor SSU has self-scheduling and an engaged staff that is empowered to make changes. Additionally, we value strong collaboration with our providers and ancillary departments.

About Taylor Hospital

A Magnet-designated hospital that is a recognized health care leader serving the area since 1977. It offers specialty services that include 24-hour emergency care, wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a surgical pavilion, a pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, an inpatient rehabilitation facility and full-service radiology, including advanced CT with cardiac scoring, fixed MRI including pacemaker, cinema vision and ultrasound (MSK and elastography).

Scope of Work

The RN, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The RN partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care and develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record.

Qualifications

• Associates or Diploma in Nursing Required
• Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years if new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience
• Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire/transfer from one of the following organizations - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer. TNCC within 1 year of hire/transfer. ENPC within 15 months of hire/transfer
• Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
• Prefer RN experience. May consider New Graduates
