Corewell Health's Taylor Hospital Emergency Center is hiring a registered nurse for full-time night shift. The RN provides professional care using the nursing process, partners with patients and families, and collaborates with the ED team to deliver timely, evidence-based care in a Level IV trauma setting.

Required: Associates or Diploma in Nursing, Michigan RN license, BLS on hire, ACLS within 6 months, TNCC within 1 year, ENPC within 15 months; Bachelor's degree within five years if new

Qualifications

• Associates or Diploma in Nursing required.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing within five years if new graduate or limited experience.
• MI RN license required and active.
• BLS required on hire; ACLS, TNCC, ENPC within specified timeframes.
• NCLEX licensure completed; specialty certification encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care by applying the nursing process.
• Partner with patient/family to develop plan of care and education.
• Coordinate with ED team and departments to ensure safe, timely care.
• Support discharge planning and patient education.

About the unit

Taylor is a 22 bed Emergency Center and Level IV Trauma Center. Our Emergency Center services a diverse patient population from both Oakland, Monroe, and Wayne County. Our leadership model is Servant Leadership. The Taylor EC has self-scheduling and an engaged staff that is empowered to make changes. Additionally, we value strong collaboration with our providers and ancillary departments.

About Taylor Hospital

A Magnet-designated hospital that is a recognized health care leader serving the area since 1977. It offers specialty services that include 24-hour emergency care, wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a surgical pavilion, a pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, an inpatient rehabilitation facility and full-service radiology, including advanced CT with cardiac scoring, fixed MRI including pacemaker, cinema vision and ultrasound (MSK and elastography).

Scope of work

The RN, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The RN partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care and develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record.

Qualifications

• Associates or Diploma in Nursing Required
• Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years if new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience
• Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire/transfer from one of the following organizations - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• TNCC within 1 year of hire/transfer.
• ENPC within 15 months of hire/transfer
• Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
• Prefer RN experience. May consider New Graduates
