Job summary

Medical City Las Colinas is seeking a Registered Nurse for Med Surg Tele on a PRN basis, 7:00pm–7:00am with rotating weekends. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care, collaborating with physicians and the care team, and advocating for patients and families.

This role requires strong clinical skills, effective communication, and compliance with state nursing standards. BLS and TX RN license are essential; 1 year acute care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing.
• Associate's Degree acceptable; Bachelor's required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
• Current RN license in TX or compact license.
• Current BLS from AHA or Red Cross.
• 1 year acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes promptly.
• Administer medications, monitor therapeutic response, and document care in the medical record.
• Provide timely, compassionate care and respond to patient requests; anticipate and resolve needs.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment plan, medications, side effects and follow-up; translate medical terms as needed.
