Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time day shift (7:00am-7:00pm) with rotating weekends. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with providers and the care team, following established nursing models and advocacy for patients and families.

The role emphasizes teaching, care planning, and outcomes evaluation across orthopedics and general medicine. Qualified candidates will have an accredited nursing degree, TX RN license or compact

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Associates degree okay to start, Bachelors degree required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
• Current RN license in TX or compact license.
• Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care hospital within the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Determine patients' health status and needs through interpretation of health data and preventive practice with the care team.
• Utilize a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient.
• Formulate a nursing care plan based on nursing diagnoses and identified problems.
• Implement nursing care within the RN’s scope of practice, including compliance with laws that apply to the practice setting.
• Develop and implement teaching plans for patients concerning promotion, maintenance and restoration of health.
• Provide education, emotional support and age-specific care to foster a partnership with the patient and family.
• Provide care for multiple patients (individual and family) either directly or via delegation.
• Evaluate patient responses and outcomes to interventions.
• Use a critical thinking approach to analyze clinical data and literature for decision making.
