Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the NT6 Observation unit. This 43-bed unit provides acute care with a typical 24–48 hour patient stay and a 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio. The role emphasizes teamwork with physicians and the care staff to ensure safe, timely patient outcomes.

The unit values thorough charting, ongoing safety checks, and daily collaboration with the discharge team. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for external applicants with a 1-year/3-year commitment.

Qualifications

• RN license required upon hire.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial assessment upon admission and develops a plan of care aligned with unit standards.
• Implements plan of care and nursing interventions.
• Monitors IV sites every 4 hours and starts new IVs per policy.
• Ensures documentation is accurate and up-to-date for the healthcare team.
