Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a registered nurse for the NT6 Observation unit. The unit provides acute care for cardiac, general surgery and behavioral health needs with an average 24–48 hour stay.

Expect a 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio and a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with strong collaboration with physicians and ancillary staff. The role requires BLS within 30 days and RN licensure upon hire, plus a nursing diploma and 1+ year of RN experience.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• RN license required upon hire.
• Nursing diploma required; RN with 1+ year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing duties per unit standards and care plan.
• Complete accurate documentation for handoffs and care.
• Assess patient status on admission and adjust care plan accordingly.
• Maintain patient safety and report hazards or incidents.
• Coordinate with physicians, staff, and families to ensure outcomes.
