Job summary

Advocate Health's Atrium Health Lincoln Med/Surg unit is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join our 7p-7a weekend team. This full-time role supports pediatric, palliative, hospice, infection disease, behavioral health, and orthopedic patients with a focus on safe, evidence-based care.

The ideal candidate holds a nursing degree, current RN license, and BLS certification, with strong clinical judgment and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active registered nurse (RN) license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN provides care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to protocols and procedures.
• Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and delegation to teammates.
• Pursues professional development and maintains required education and certifications.
• Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics and provides ethical, patient-centered care.
• Appropriate delegation to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units within the service area as needed.
