MedStar Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to oversee nursing care from admission to discharge across units. The role requires autonomous care, collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and a focus on patient experience.

Candidates should hold an RN license, have 1–2 years of RN experience, and be prepared to work weekends or nights and three holidays. CPR certification is required within 90 days. Salary is hourly with a broad range.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing is required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
• Enrollment in BSN within 12 months of start date and completion within 4 years is required
• RN license in state or compact state is required
• CPR certification (BLS/NRP) within 90 days is required
• Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department

Responsibilities

• Assess plans, implement and evaluate nursing care from admission through discharge.
• Collaborate with patient and family and coordinate care with interdisciplinary team.
• Provide relationship-based care and ensure patient experience is central.
• Identify and plan interventions for complex patient problems.
• Incorporate evidence-based practice to improve quality and safety.
• Advocate for patients and communicate clinical concerns timely.
• Discharge planning in collaboration with the team.
• Engage in professional development and lifelong learning.
• Lead and delegate tasks within scope of practice.
