Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time night shift (7:00pm–7:00am) with rotating weekends. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and collaborate with the care team to follow established nursing models.

You will assess patients on admission and during shifts, administer medications, document care, respond to requests, and educate patients and families about conditions and treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing.
• Associate's Degree okay to start; Bachelor's Degree required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
• Current RN license in TX or compact license.
• Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• 1 year acute care experience in area/unit highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
