Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med Surg unit on a full-time night shift from 7:00pm to 7:00am with rotating weekends. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care, collaborate with physicians and the care team, and advocate for patients and families in line with the department's standards.

The role emphasizes nursing models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage, with focus on ensuring outstanding patient experiences and positive outcomes across shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing
• Associate's Degree okay to start, Bachelors Degree required within 24 months of hire into RN position
• Current RN license in the State of TX or compact license
• Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
• 1 year acute care experience in area/unit highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient condition during admission and each shift, report changes promptly
• Administer meds, monitor response, document care in medical record
• Provide prompt patient and family assistance, anticipate needs, resolve requests
• Educate patients and families about condition, plan, meds, side effects, and follow-up, translate medical terms as needed
