Job summary

Lutheran Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med Surg 4B unit in Fort Wayne, IN. This 24-bed unit focuses on kidney-related care and post-op patients, supported by a team-based culture and strong leadership.

The RN provides patient-centered care using the nursing process, administers medications, and collaborates with the care team to ensure quality outcomes. Night shifts, weekends, and a welcome bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of clinical nursing experience or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required.
• RN licensure (and BLS) required; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process and care plans.
• Administer medications, monitor effects, and document administrations.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to implement and evaluate care plans.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in code team activities.
• Document care thoroughly in the medical record and uphold infection control standards.
• Support patient safety and participate in quality improvement activities.
