The Lutheran Hospital unit Med Surg 4B in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Registered Nurse for a part-time, 0.6 FTE (24 hours per week) night shift. This role offers a welcome bonus up to $12,500 and a weekend premium, with a robust benefits package including health insurance and a 401(k) match.

You will provide patient-centered care, perform assessments, administer medications, and collaborate with the care team to ensure optimal outcomes for patients with kidney-related and post-operative needs.

Qualifications

• This position requires 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience or student rotations in acute care.
• Valid RN license and BCLS certification are required to practice in this unit.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP are preferred but not mandatory for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process and established protocols.
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings in the chart.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Collaborate with physicians and team to develop and implement care plans.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in life-saving interventions as needed.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
