Job summary

Lutheran Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Neuro Spine Med Surg in Fort Wayne. The role is full-time at 0.9 FTE with a night shift from 7p to 7a and offers a welcome bonus eligible up to $35,000 for new hires.

The Neuro Spine Med Surg team cares for patients with stroke, neurological disorders, post-op neuro procedures, and general med-surg patients. Strong teamwork and leadership are emphasized in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required.
• Basic Life Support certification required; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process from assessment to evaluation.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse effects per policy.
• Collaborate with physicians and peers to develop and implement care plans.
• Document care thoroughly in the medical record and ensure accuracy.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in code/CPR activities.
• Educate patients and families on conditions and post-discharge care.
