Job summary

Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatrics/PICU unit. This full-time position is 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week) with night shifts from 7pm to 7am. A welcome bonus eligible up to $35,000 is offered.

The RN provides patient-centered care, conducts thorough assessments, administers medications, collaborates with physicians and staff, and supports families in pediatrics and PICU, ensuring high-quality outcomes and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of clinical nursing experience or student rotations in an acute care setting.
• RN licensure required (state licensure and/or compact).
• BCLS certification required; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Performs thorough patient assessments and documents findings.
• Administers prescribed medications and monitors for side effects.
• Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop care plans.
• Responds to medical emergencies and participates in life-saving interventions like CPR.
• Documents patient care and education promptly in the medical record.
• Engages in professional development to maintain clinical competency.
