Job summary

PowerBack Rehabilitation in Fairmont, West Virginia is seeking a dedicated MDS Nurse -- RN to manage Medicare/Medicaid case-mix documents and optimize reimbursement for services in a long-term care setting.

You will schedule MDS assessments, perform concurrent reviews to support appropriate RUGs, and coordinate with the Business Office on billing data. The role requires RN licensure in the state, LTC experience, and BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• RN licensure in the state where employment occurs.
• One year of long-term care nursing experience.
• BLS/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the MDS nurse process and tracking for Medicare/Medicaid case-mix documents to ensure appropriate reimbursement.
• Maintain accurate MDS assessment schedules and ensure timely submission of MDS assessments (case-mix, OBRA, OSRA).
• Perform concurrent MDS reviews to optimize RUGs categorization through clinical information.
• Communicate case-mix data needed for billing to Business Office (RUGs, modifiers, state case-mix scores).
• Serve as nursing center resource for MDS/RUGs education and terminology.
