Job summary

Ciena Healthcare in Michigan is seeking a qualified RN MDS Coordinator to manage the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI), including the MDS, CAAs, and care planning, ensuring timely, accurate documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations.

This role supports PDPM reimbursement and payer compliance, oversees supervisory responsibilities, coordinates staff assignments, and fosters high-quality assessments and resident care.

Qualifications

• Prior MDS/RAI experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of PDPM, ICD-10, Quality Measures and Care Planning processes.
• Familiarity with RAI and PPS concepts is highly valued.
• Strong organizational and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out supervisory responsibilities per policies and laws.
• Train MDS Nurse and plan, assign, and direct work.
• Prepare assignments considering patient safety and staff capabilities.
• Respond to absences and recruit replacements as needed.
• Prepare performance evaluations impacting tenure and raises.
• Monitor staff performance and participate in improvement plans.
