You will ensure timely submissions, monitor Medicare/Medicaid requirements, mentor nursing staff, and collaborate with leadership to optimize care reimbursement while maintaining regulatory excellence.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment.
• Prior MDS Coordinator experience is preferred – however, training can be provided for strong nurses.
• Solid understanding of state and federal regulations governing long-term care.
• At least two years of clinical nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting.
• Proficiency or strong interest in learning MDS 3.0 and care plan development.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee completion of resident assessments (MDS 3.0) for timely submissions.
• Develop individualized care plans that drive quality outcomes and compliance.
• Monitor Medicare and Medicaid requirements and initiate coverage or notifications as needed.
• Support nursing staff development and ensure optimal care delivery standards.
• Collaborate with leadership to maximize resident care reimbursement and meet operational goals.
