Job summary

Advocate Health's Atrium Health Union - Nursing Float Pool is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to join our team. This role involves 2 x 12-hour shifts per week, 7pm–7am, with every other weekend and possible floating to Union West and Anson facilities.

You will engage in professional governance, apply evidence-based nursing care, and maintain a high standard of patient safety across units. BSN preferred; active RN license required; BLS required; typically 1 year of clinical nursing

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active, unrestricted RN license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services.
• Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.
• Licensed nurses practicing via telehealth/telenursing/virtual modalities must be licensed in the state where the client is located.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care; engage patients and families through the continuum of care.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution; fosters team collaboration and delegation.
• Pursues professional development and maintains required certifications.
• Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics and ensures ethical decision-making and unbiased patient care.
• Appropriate delegation to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed assistive personnel.
