Job summary

Echelon Care and Rehab is seeking a Charge Nurse for the day shift to ensure high-quality care across the facility. This role requires strong clinical nursing experience, leadership, and the ability to oversee daily unit operations with initiative and sound judgment.

Supervise daily resident care, oversee staffing, administer medications, and coordinate with physicians for initial orders. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for communicating with residents, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing with a current LPN license in the state.
• Up-to-date physical assessment skills and comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles.
• Experience in geriatric, long-term care, or rehabilitative nursing preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Annual verification of a negative TB test.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Unit Care: Oversee daily resident care, verify unit staffing, and ensure individual nursing care plans are followed.
• Clinical Oversight: Perform rounds to assess resident conditions, administer medications and treatments, and oversee the charting process.
• Team Leadership: Collaborate with the Nursing Supervisor, assist with staff training, and ensure resident call lights are answered promptly.
• Admissions & Transfers: Manage resident admissions, transfers, and discharges, and coordinate with attending physicians for initial orders.
• Safety & Quality: Identify potential safety hazards, assist with the Quality Improvement program, and ensure compliance with facility guidelines.
• Communication: Serve as a key point of contact for residents, families, physicians, and staff to maintain a caring and compassionate atmosphere.
