Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing.
• Current nursing license in good standing with the State licensing board.
• Ability to provide quality patient care per standards, policies and procedures.
• Critical thinking to analyze data and develop a nursing care plan.
• Knowledge of nursing principles and practices to ensure care quality.
• Willingness to work with professional and nonprofessional staff; strong English skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care as prescribed by physician and within scope of practice.
• Administer services to promote residents' highest practicable well-being using the nursing process.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents per policy.
• Orient new residents and families as needed.
• Record and review nursing reports and coordinate with nursing staff at shift changes.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered; monitor patient responses and adverse reactions.
• Ensure narcotics and controlled drugs are secure and documented.
• Order and arrange diagnostic/therapeutic services as needed.
• Attend care conferences and staff meetings; participate in QA activities.
• Supervise CNAs and assist with supervision and direction of nursing personnel.
• Participate in discharge planning and infection control activities.
