Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services seeks a licensed professional nurse to provide direct care in a long-term care setting under the supervision of the Director of Nursing Services.

You will administer nursing care and develop and revise plans of care, supervise CNAs, and participate in rounds and care conferences to ensure residents’ highest practicable well‑being.

Candidates must have an RN license, CPR, and strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work with a diverse staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited RN program.
• Current nursing license in good standing with the State.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; ability to provide quality patient care.
• Possess critical thinking skills to analyze data and develop a nursing plan of care.
• Comprehensive knowledge of applicable nursing principles to ensure quality of care.
• Willingness to work with professional and nonprofessional personnel; proficiency in English.
• Valid CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care as prescribed by physician within scope of practice and established standards.
• Administers professional services to help residents attain highest practicable well-being via the nursing process.
• Admits, transfers, and discharges residents per policy.
• Orients new residents and families as necessary.
• Gives/receives nursing reports at shift start and reviews daily patient reports with nursing staff.
• Conducts daily resident rounds to assess status and revise the plan of care.
• Documents care information accurately in the medical record.
• Initiates and updates resident plans of care and transcribes orders.
• Receives and transcribes orders from physicians.
• Assists in rounds with attending physician as needed.
• Prepares and administers medications as ordered.
• Completes treatments as ordered and monitors responses.
• Monitors narcotics security and documentation.
• Orders meds, supplies, and diagnostic services as established by policy.
• Informs supervisor of resident status and related matters.
• Attends facility meetings as required.
• Reports allegations of abuse or unusual occurrence as per policy.
• Initiates emergency procedures including basic CPR.
• Participates in infection control program and QA activities.
• Supervises CNAs and participates in disciplinary actions and evaluations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
