Job summary

Idaho Falls Community Hospital is seeking a Process Improvement Specialist to drive measurable operational performance using Lean Six Sigma and data-driven methods. You will evaluate frontline workflows, identify barriers, and implement improvement activities across clinical and support areas.

The role emphasizes collaboration with frontline staff, trialing changes, and sustaining gains while leveraging Cerner and Power Platform tools to automate workflows when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; current RN license in good standing, BSN preferred; Lean Six Sigma or process improvement training preferred.
• Experience: 3+ years of nursing experience, preferably acute care. Experience with process improvement, workflow redesign, or quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned process improvement work under the designated operational improvement lead.
• Conduct gemba walks, workflow observations, staff interviews, and process assessments.
• Identify process variation, delays, duplication, rework, communication gaps, inefficient handoffs, and other improvement opportunities.
• Develop current state and future state process maps to support evaluation and redesign.
• Participate in Lean Six Sigma and other structured improvement activities.
