Amergis Healthcare Staffing seeks an experienced RN - LDRP for a travel assignment in Cedar Rapids, IA. The Labor and Delivery Nurse will provide nursing care in the L&D setting, apply the nursing process, and monitor mothers and newborns to ensure safe transitions to maternal-child care.

With a 36-hour work week and a weekly pay of $3,031, the role offers competitive compensation. Requirements include an active RN license, L&D experience preferred, CPR, and health clearance; RNC-OB preferred.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• One year of Labor and Delivery clinical experience within the last three years preferred.
• RNC-OB certification preferred.
• CPR certification if applicable.
• TB questionnaire/PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate per contract or state regulation.
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the Labor and Delivery setting per the nursing process.
• Monitor mothers and newborns and respond to obstetric complications.
• Educate patients and address psychosocial needs postpartum.
• Coordinate the transition from labor and delivery to maternal-child care.

The Labor and Delivery Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in the L&D Setting. The Labor and Delivery Nurse demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner, consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient and newborn care

The Labor and Delivery Nurse works with Mothers during the final stages of pregnancy helping with birthing, monitoring the Mother's vital signs, and becoming astute in signs and symptoms of possible complications. The Labor and Delivery Nurse is involved in patient education and addressing the psychosocial needs of Mothers after delivery and demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care. The Labor and Delivery Nurse may also provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum patients and newborns during the recovery and postpartum period, ensuring safe transition from labor and delivery to maternal-child care.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse license within the state of practice
• One year of Labor and Delivery clinical experience within the last three years preferred
• RNC-OB certification preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
