Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Labor & Delivery/ LDRP assignment in a rural North Dakota hospital. Requires 2+ years of L&D experience, active ND license or Compact, and certified in BLS, ACLS, and NRP.

Drivers license and two references are required, with a 12-hour shift pattern and Weekend rotation. The role includes managing 4 L&D beds and 7 postpartum beds, using MEDITECH EHR and OB Trace Vue, and fluctuating assignments including MSP/ED float.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (ND state or Compact/NLC)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references: one supervisor from within last 12 months and one peer/supervisor from within last 3 years, with dates and rehire eligibility

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting within the LDRP department of a rural hospital
• 4 L&D beds and 7 postpartum beds
• Patient population includes >35 weeks gestation in labor and Mom/Baby couplets
• Follows AWHONN staffing ratios: Labor 1:1-2, Postpartum 1:2-3
• RNs titrate drips for labor and postpartum patients
• Charge nurse assigns shifts
• RNs troubleshoot neonatal RT equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, high flow)
• Uses OB Trace Vue for EFM and MEDITECH for charting
• Day/Night 12-hour shifts (7-7) with block scheduling
• Every third weekend, holiday coverage based on availability
• Floating to MSP/ED, mainly 1:1 patient sitting
• Surgery team handles C-sections; RN circulates for the baby
• Facility located over an hour from nearest NICU
• Unit orientation consists of three 12-hour shifts
• Scrubs provided
• Facial hair requires respirator fit test; removal may affect contract
• Residency in facility area required (50 miles)
• No direct CommonSpirit-affiliated past employment within last year
• Up to 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract; additional RTO not approved

• Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required

• Uses OB Trace Vue for EFM and MEDITECH for charting
• Day/Night rotating 12-hour shifts (7-7) with block scheduling
• Every third weekend required, with holiday coverage based on availability

• Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved
