Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for travel assignments in Hendersonville, NC. The role requires delivering high-quality care to mothers during the birthing process and coordinating with the obstetric team.

As a travel RN, you will work 36 hours per week, with competitive weekly pay and comprehensive benefits. Candidates must hold an active RN license in the state and meet the assignment's clinical requirements, including CPR and TB/PPD compliance.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license within the state of practice
• One year of Labor and Delivery clinical experience within the last three years preferred
• RNC-OB preferred
• CPR current if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to mothers during the final stages of pregnancy and during labor
• Monitor the Mother’s vital signs and recognize signs of potential complications
• Educate patients and address psychosocial needs after delivery
• Coordinate patient care with the healthcare team and other staff

The Labor and Delivery Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in the L&D Setting. The Labor and Delivery Nurse demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with supervision.

The Labor and Delivery Nurse works with Mothers during the final stages of pregnancy helping with birthing, monitoring the Mother’s vital signs, and becoming astute in signs and symptoms of possible complications. The Labor and Delivery Nurse is involved in patient education and addressing the psychosocial needs of Mothers after delivery and demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care. Consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse license within the state of practice
• One year of Labor and Delivery clinical experience within the last three years preferred
• RNC-OB Preferred

• Current CPR if applicable
