Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking an experienced RN Labor and Delivery nurse to provide high‑quality care from admission through the post‑delivery period. You will monitor fetal status, support vaginal and cesarean births, and care for patients receiving various anesthesia types in a fast‑paced obstetric unit.

The role requires active TX RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/NRP, and 2 years of L&D experience; BSN within 24 months of hire is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing.
• If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
• Current TX RN License or RN multi-state compact license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS provider.
• ACLS and NRP required within 3 months of hire.
• Interns must complete NRP within 3 months of hire and ACLS within one year of hire.
• Must successfully complete AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring Course within 1 year of hire or provide documentation of completion.
• C-EFM preferred.
• 2 years of recent L&D experience is Required.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for consistent, safe, high quality care of all laboring patients from admission to post delivery.
• Familiar with vaginal and C-section births, fetal monitoring and care for patients receiving various types of anesthesia.
• Provide care for patient during PACU period as well as newborn care first two hours of life.
