Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Labor & Delivery team on a PRN, varied shift basis. The unit follows AWHONN staffing guidelines to support safe, high-quality patient care and collaborates with an experienced team to care for mothers and newborns across birth experiences.

The role emphasizes accurate assessments, timely documentation, and active participation in care planning, with a focus on maternal care and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required.
• BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP and AWHONN certifications required.
• At least 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience.
• 3–5 years of LDRP experience preferred.
• Mother/Baby training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation in the medical record.
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.
