Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Labor & Delivery on a full-time night schedule (3x12 shifts). A $20,000 commitment-incentive bonus is offered. The unit follows AWHONN staffing guidelines, with 1:1 active labor ratios and a collaborative team culture.

Applicants should hold an active NC RN license; BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP and AWHONN certifications are required. 2+ years of L&D experience is expected, with 3–5 years in LDRP preferred.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP and FHN-AWHONN required.
• 2+ years of Labor & Delivery experience.
• 3–5 years of LDRP experience preferred.
• Mother/Baby training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.

The Labor & Delivery department at Frye Regional Medical Center offers a supportive and collaborative environment where nurses care for mothers and newborns across every stage of the birth experience. How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP and FHN- AWHONN required.
• At least 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required.
• 3 to 5 years of LDRP experience preferred.
• Trained in Mother/Baby preferred.
