Job summary

Medasource is seeking a Travel RN in L&D for Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. This assignment covers the 7A-7P shift on the Delivery Room unit (708).

Must have at least 1 year of current hospital L&D experience and BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM-C or AWHONN certification. Preference for experience with C-sections and high-risk labor; self-scheduling and team-based staffing are highlighted in the unit.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of current hospital L&D RN experience.
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM-C or AWHONN certifications required.

Responsibilities

• C-sections and inductions commonly performed on unit.
• High-risk labor management with 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios.

• Number of Beds -26
• Number of Staff - 112
• Type of staff:
• Day Shift - 1 CNC(TL), 14 nurses, 2-3 ST, 2-unit clerks
• Night Shift - 1 CNC (TL),, 12 nurses, 2 ST, 1 unit clerk
• Patient Ratios - 1:1 high risk labor c-sections; 1:2 antepartum, PPROM, PTL on mag, PP on mag; 1:3 PP mag no baby, Outpatients
• Type of equipment - Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, Monica Novii telemetry, CPN(GE) monitor
• EMR - Meditech / CPN

Typical hiring profile

Skill Set Most recruited for: (Travel RNs, local CNAs and sitters)

Must have : candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

• Minimum 1-year current hospital L&D RN experience
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM-C or AWHONN

Preferred or nice to have

candidates with these skills will be considered first.

• Circulating C-sections
• High risk LDR experience

We do self-scheduling which is a big staff satisfier. Our team works together well to cover the staffing needs of the unit. We have a team nursing approach, where all of the nurses look out for each other, and help each other when possible. Strong leadership team that is supportive of nurses and can all work the floor when/if needed. We have many tenured nurses with 20-40 years of experience. New OB Hospitalist program began in April, and gives attending support to the residency program, and nurses working triage.
