Job summary

TalentBurst, Inc. is seeking an experienced Travel RN - L&D for Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. This assignment supports our growing obstetric team and offers competitive scheduling in a busy unit.

Must have at least 1 year of current acute care hospital L&D RN experience plus BLS, ACLS, NRP and EFM-C or AWHONN. Circulating experience and strong patient‑care focus are highly valued in a collaborative, team‑based environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year current acute care hospital L&D RN experience.
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM-C or AWHONN certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for labor and delivery patients, including high‑risk scenarios.
• Assist with C-sections and inductions as needed.
• Support a team nursing approach and patient‑care coordination.

• Number of Beds -26
• Number of Staff – 112
• Type of staff:
  • Day Shift – 1 CNC(TL), 14 nurses, 2-3 ST, 2-unit clerks
  • Night Shift – 1 CNC (TL), 12 nurses, 2 ST, 1 unit clerk
• Patient Ratios – 1:1 high risk labor c-sections; 1:2 antepartum, PPROM, PTL on mag, PP on mag; 1:3 PP mag no baby, Outpatients
• Type of equipment – Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, Monica Novii telemetry, CPN(Client) monitor
• EMR – Meditech / CPN

Typical hiring profile

Skill Set Most recruited for: (Travel RNs, local CNAs and sitters)

Must have : candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

• Minimum 1-year current acute care hospital L&D RN experience
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM-C or AWHONN

Preferred or nice to have : candidates with these skills will be considered first.

• Circulating C-sections
• High risk LDR experience

We do self-scheduling which is a big staff satisfier. Our team works together well to cover the staffing needs of the unit. We have a team nursing approach, where all of the nurses look out for each other, and help each other when possible. Strong leadership team that is supportive of nurses and can all work the floor when/if needed. We have many tenured nurses with 20-40 years of experience. New OB Hospitalist program began in April, and gives attending support to the residency program, and nurses working triage.
