Job summary

Cynet Health is seeking a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse for a 13-week night shift assignment in Sterling, VA. The unit features several labor and postpartum beds, a Level 2 NICU, and around-the-clock obstetric services requiring strong teamwork and flexibility.

Ideal candidates hold an RN license with 2+ years in L&D, ACLS, BLS, NRP, fetal monitoring/C-EFM, and are comfortable with obstetric procedures and triage. Scrubs provided; on-site assignment with night shifts.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Virginia.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience.
• ACLS, BLS, NRP, fetal monitoring and C-EFM certifications.

Responsibilities

• Labor management, vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, inductions.
• Provide patient care in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery unit.

Description:

General information about the unit includes 10 labor beds and 13 postpartum beds, along with 2 operating rooms.The unit is growing rapidly and typically staffs 4-5 Labor RNs and 2 Postpartum RNs per shift, along with an OB scrub tech.Lactation consultants are also available.There is a Level 2 NICU staffed by 2 RNs 24/7.There are in-house OB Clientists and Neonatology providers available 24/7.Day shifts typically have 4-5 Labor RNs and 2 Postpartum RNs, with a scheduler and birth registrar Monday through Friday.Night shifts maintain the same staffing ratios.Patient ratios vary depending on the stages of labor.Equipment includes labor tubs for midwifery patients and a fetal monitoring system.The electronic medical record systems used are Meditech and CPN.The ideal candidate should possess flexibility and a strong sense of teamwork.Typical procedures performed on the unit include labor management, vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and inductions, as well as OB emergency department triage.The culture emphasizes great teamwork and excitement for growth opportunities on the unit.The position may require helping out in postpartum if needed.A preference for one to two on-call shifts per month is desired.Scrubs will be provided by the facility.
