Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Labor & Delivery on a 13-week contract. The role involves antepartum and laboring patient care, including magnesium sulfate therapy and postpartum hemorrhage management. Shift comprises 12-hour nights with 36 hours per shift, and a 1:2 to 1:1 patient ratio during labor.

EMR systems Meditech Expanse and GE Centricity Perinatal are used on the unit. Requirements include a valid RN license, BLS, ACLS, and NICU/Pediatrics exposure.

Qualifications

• 1 year nursing experience in maternity care
• Experience with laboring patients
• Experience circulating on C-sections
• Triage on outpatients is a plus
• Magnesium sulfate therapy management
• Postpartum hemorrhage care including blood administration

Responsibilities

• Provide care for antepartum and laboring patients.
• Monitor labor progress and fetal status.
• Administer medications and manage magnesium sulfate therapy.
• Support C-section circulations and post-delivery care.
• Ensure patient safety with appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios.

Description:The position involves working with antepartum and laboring patients.Adequate PPE is provided for all staff.Patient ratios are 1:2 for laboring and 1:1 during active labor.The charge nurse may take patient assignments.Phlebotomy services are available in-house.The unit has 12 nurses.The charting system utilized is EMR: Meditech Expanse and GE Centricity Perinatal.IV pumps used on the unit are Alaris, and medication is dispensed via Pyxis.There is no dedicated respiratory therapist in-house.Clientists are available on-site, while OB/GYN hospitalists are available on-call after hours.Midwives are not present in this facility.Weekend rotation is every other weekend, and time off must be approved by the manager.Employees are expected to be on-call for two shifts per month, from 7 PM to 7 AM.Holiday expectations will be communicated as needed.Scrub color is pewter.The culture on the unit is described as family-like.
