Expect 1:1 to 1:6 nurse-patient ratios, weekend and some holiday coverage required. Neonatal care involved; familiarity with Epic charting preferred. Compact license required on submission.

Description:This position is for an LDRP obstetric nurse.The nurse will provide care for laboring, recovering, and postpartum patients.This role requires the nurse to care for newborns as well.Staffing ratios are expected to be 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, 1:5, and 1:6.Nurses will float between units as needed.Weekend shifts are mandatory and will be evenly split among the staff.Holiday coverage is required, including working at least one winter holiday in pairs and at least one summer holiday.The facility has a daily census of approximately 2 patients.Nurses will work in a critical access facility with a total of 22 staff beds.Expectations include circulating for C-sections, triaging obstetrical patients, and performing sterile vaginal exams.The unit provides interdisciplinary support, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.Wireless fetal monitoring and other special equipment are used in the unit.Travelers may be required to float between nearby facilities.Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment.
