Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Joint and Spine Unit. This full‑time, day shift role focuses on patient education and clinical outcomes within a collaborative multidisciplinary team of surgeons, OT/PT and case managers.

The ideal candidate holds a nursing degree with Maryland RN licensure, BLS certification, and acute care experience. BSN/MSN is preferred; bilingual abilities are a plus. We offer comprehensive benefits and flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required (BSN preferred).
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.
• At least one year of RN experience in an acute care setting; rehab/surgical experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Effectively communication with the patient, family and healthcare team
• Provide education to post-surgical Joint & Spine patients
• Interfaces regularly OT/PT/Case Management to enhance the patient experience and transition patients to home setting (admission/discharges/transfers)
• Ability to collaborate with patient in the proper management of pain
