Job summary

Trinity Health, Holy Cross Health, in Silver Spring, MD, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Joint and Spine Unit. This full-time day shift role is 36 hours weekly, based in Silver Spring, Maryland.

The RN provides professional nursing services and education in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes. The position requires an accredited nursing program graduate, Maryland RN licensure, BLS, and at least one year of acute care experience; BSN/MSN

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required (BSN preferred).
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.
• At least one year of RN experience in an acute care setting; rehab/surgical experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Effectively communication with the patient, family and healthcare team
• Provide education to post-surgical Joint & Spine patients
• Interfaces regularly OT/PT/Case Management to enhance the patient experience and transition patients to home setting (admission/discharges/transfers)
• Ability to collaborate with patient in the proper management of pain
