Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Joint and Spine Unit. This full-time role offers a rotating 7pm-7am or 7am-7pm schedule, about 36 hours weekly, and a focus on patient education and clinical outcomes.

As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will educate post-surgical Joint & Spine patients, coordinate with OT/PT and Case Management, and support transitions to home. BSN preferred; Maryland RN licensure and BLS required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current Maryland RN license or Compact state license.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems (EHRs).
• At least 1 year RN experience in acute care; rehab/surgical experience preferred.

Position Purpose

The Joint Commission has deemed the Joint and Spine Center at Holy Cross hospital as a Center of Excellence since 2015. We have an opening for an engaged experienced Nurse who focuses on patient education and clinical outcomes. You would be a member of collaborative multi-disciplinary team of Surgeons, OT/PT and Case Managers who strive for excellence in care.

As a Registered Nurse You Will

• Effectively communication with the patient, family and healthcare team
• Provide education to post-surgical Joint & Spine patients
• Interfaces regularly OT/PT/Case Management to enhance the patient experience and transition patients to home setting (admission/discharges/transfers)
• Ability to collaborate with patient in the proper management of pain

Required

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required (BSN preferred). Note, if the BSN or MSN degree is not present on hire, the employee must sign an agreement to obtain a within a specific time frame.
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association).
• Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.
• At least one year of RN experience in an acute care setting; rehab/surgical experience highly preferred.

Pay Range: $38.92 – $55.68. Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
