Position Overview
The RN/Internal Agency is a temporary full‑time assignment on various med/surg units at Methodist University Hospital. This 13‑week assignment pays $60.00/hour.
Responsibilities
- Provide practice excellence through specialized nursing assessment, care, evaluation and education to patients and families according to policies and procedures.
- Promote evidence‑based practice by using research to develop, implement and evaluate process standards such as plans of care, protocols and guidelines.
- Provide leadership excellence in the clinical practice area.
- Demonstrate commitment to learning excellence through professional development and clinical expertise.
- Demonstrate role clarity through professional competence, expertise and knowledge, supporting the nursing profession via role modeling and fostering an environment of growth and learning.

- Direct and delegate all patient care activities on nursing units.
Education & Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Nursing.
- 1‑3 years of experience in an acute care environment.
- Two years of experience in an acute care hospital setting.
Skills and Abilities
- Flexible and versatile in meeting changing staffing demands.
- Analytical skills for complex patient assessment and comprehensive care planning.
- Synthesizes multiple sources of information for problem resolution.
- Proficiency in applying highly technical nursing principles, concepts and techniques.
- Other certifications may be required depending on assigned nursing unit.
Licenses and Certifications
- Basic Life Support – American Heart Association
- Registered Nurse, Tennessee – Tennessee Board of Nursing
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support – American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support – American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification – American Heart Association
Physical Demands
Medium work: exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently. Requires good balance, coordination, visual acuity, ability to react quickly to emergency situations, and ability to work a flexible schedule.
