Job summary

Medasource is seeking a Critical Care Registered Nurse in Dallas, TX to provide high-acuity care for patients post-heart attack, stroke, trauma, or respiratory failure. You will assess conditions, plan and implement care, and assist physicians with procedures.

Responsibilities include managing ventilators and monitors, administering IV fluids and medications, observing vitals, advocating for patients, and coordinating with the ICU team.

Qualifications

• ACLS & BLS certifications through the American Heart Association.
• Experience with vents/trachs in critical care settings.
• Active TX or multi-state RN license and attached to resume.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and plan/implement care.
• Treat wounds and provide advanced life support.
• Assist physicians in procedures and monitor vitals.
• Ensure ventilators/monitors function properly and adjust as needed.
• Administer IV fluids and medications; suction as required.
• Collaborate with the critical care team and advocate for patients.
• Respond to life-saving situations using nursing protocols.
• Provide family education and support; may care for pre/post-op patients.
• Possibly engage in case management or administrative duties.

Job description

Critical care registered nurses are adept at providing such care in settings where patients have suffered a heart attack, stroke, shock, severe trauma, respiratory distress or other severe medical issues. Specific critical care nurse duties and responsibilities can include: Assessing a patients condition and planning and implementing patient care plans Treating wounds and providing advanced life support Assisting physicians in performing procedures Observing and recording patient vital signs Ensuring that ventilators, monitors and other types of medical equipment function properly/adjusting ventilator/IABP Administering intravenous fluids and medications Suctioning Collaborating with fellow members of the critical care team Responding to life-saving situations, using nursing standards and protocols for treatment Acting as patient advocate Providing education and support to patient families Critical care nurses may also care for pre- and post-operative patients. In addition, some serve as case managers and policy makers, while others perform administrative duties.

Facility Requirements:

• Must have ACLS & BLS certifications (Must be through the American Heart Association)
• Must have experience with vents/trachs
• Must have TX or multi-state RN license, must be attached to resume
• Orientation will be held on Tuesday, 10/20 (8 hours), Shadow Shift will be Wednesday 10/21 (12 hours)
• TBD for another orientation date
