Job Overview

Sign on Bonus available. The 20 bed telemetry PCU specializes in care and management of general and bariatric surgery patients and serves as an alternate unit for neuro/trauma surgery patients, hospitalist/medicine cases, and urology/other surgery patients. As a registered nurse, you consistently deliver high‑quality care, exemplary customer service, and demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in every encounter.

Responsibilities
  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Documents age‑specific admissions, ongoing assessments, and integrates findings into individualized care plans.
  • Collaborates with the health‑care team, patients, and families to develop and evaluate interdisciplinary care plans.
  • Revises care plans in response to changes in patient status.
  • Accurately administers treatments and medications using electronic medical records.
  • Identifies and addresses patient/family educational needs, integrating them into the plan of care.
  • Contributes to performance‑improvement activities and quality initiatives.
  • Advocates for patient rights and provides psychological, social, and cultural support.
  • Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide appropriate care.
  • Performs within clinical, leadership, and educational pathways to support evidence‑based care.
  • Exhibits clinical expertise amid rapidly changing circumstances.
  • Plans strategies to reduce length of stay, turnaround time, and resource consumption while improving outcomes.
  • Serves as a clinical role model for co‑workers, students, and physicians.
  • Manages resources, sets priorities, and modifies the environment to meet patient needs.
  • Completes manager/director projects within specified time frames and guidelines.
  • Utilizes problem‑solving methods to resolve patient and personnel situations.
  • Participates actively in orientation of new employees and provides appropriate feedback.
  • Engages in unit, hospital, and system activities to facilitate staff decision making.
  • Assists with educational activities for the unit/department.
Qualifications
