Responsibilities include leading the Antibiotic Stewardship Program, staying current with infection control trends, and ensuring compliance with regulations within the facility.

Qualifications

• Nursing diploma (associate's or bachelor's) required.
• Active RN license in good standing.
• CPR certification required at hire or during orientation.
• IPC training beyond initial professional training required.
• Prior geriatrics experience preferred.
• State-specific IPC certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Public Health Advisories from local, state, and federal agencies including the CDC.
• On-site IPC for COVID-19 prevention and response per CDC recommendations.
• Work onsite at the facility; not an off-site consultant or at another location.
• Develop and be accountable for the Antibiotic Stewardship Program.
• Maintain knowledge of infection control trends and employee health practices.
• Perform work within the scope of the license.
• Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Knowledge of infection prevention practices and relevant nursing laws in post-acute care.
• Implement and interpret Infection Prevention and Control Program goals and procedures.
• Maintain professional relationships and confidentiality.
• Follow Life Care policies including harassment and compliance; complete Code of Conduct training.

Education

Nursing diploma (associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing)

RN license in good standing

CPR certification

Specialized IPC training

Geriatrics experience preferred

State requirements certifications (e.g., Certified TB Nurse)
