Job summary

St. Joseph's Living Center in Windham, CT is seeking an RN Infection Control Nurse/Staff Development Coordinator to lead our infection prevention program and staff training initiatives.

The role oversees surveillance, audits, data analysis, and quality improvement, ensures regulatory compliance, maintains records, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to improve resident outcomes and staff performance. Must hold CT RN license, 2+ years in infection control, CPR/BLS; ICP cert preferred.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered CT or Compact State RN licensure
• 2+ years in infection prevention and control, staff development, and regulatory compliance (CMS, CDC, OSHA, DPH) preferred
• CPR certifications including BLS are required
• ICP certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead the facility's infection prevention and control program through surveillance, audits, data analysis, and quality improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with infection control regulations by monitoring practices, investigating outbreaks, and implementing corrective actions
• Develop and deliver staff education, orientation, and ongoing clinical training to support regulatory compliance and quality care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify training needs, promote best practices, and improve resident outcomes
• Maintain infection control records, monitor trends, and serve as a clinical resource for infection prevention and staff development

$4,000 Sign-On Bonus
Full-Time | 40hrs per week
Monday – Friday | 8:00AM – 4:00PM | On-Call every 4th weekend

Qualifications for Success:

• Active, unencumbered CT or Compact State Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• 2+ years prior experience in infection prevention and control, staff development, and regulatory compliance with CMS, CDC, OSHA, and Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) standards preferred.
• ICP certification preferred
• Current CPR certifications, including BLS
• RN Ability to communicate fluently in English – both verbally and written
