Spring Grove Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in New Jersey seeks an Infection Prevention Nurse for a full-time role. The nurse leads infection prevention efforts to protect residents and staff through surveillance, education, and preventive practices.

Salary ranges from $79,000 to $110,000 annually (all inclusive), with daily pay options and a focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across the facility.

Qualifications

• Current New Jersey nursing license in good standing.
• Valid BLS CPR certification required.
• Associate degree in Nursing or related field required.
• Specialized infection prevention training completed.
• CIC certification preferred.
• CDC certification required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, investigate, monitor, and report trends in healthcare-associated infections to support timely intervention and prevention strategies.
• Collaborate with facility leadership, clinical teams, and staff to implement and sustain effective infection prevention and control practices.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with all infection prevention and control policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate infection control initiatives to reduce risk and improve resident and staff safety.
• Provide staff with education and training on infection prevention practices to ensure awareness and adherence to established protocols.
• Participate in the facility’s Quality Assessment and Assurance (QAA) committee to support continuous improvement efforts.
• Conduct surveillance activities, audits, and assessments to monitor infection control effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Serve as a resource and subject-matter expert on infection prevention guidance across the organization.

Qualifications for an Infection Prevention Nurse:

• Current nursing license in good standing in the state of New Jersey.
• Valid BLS Certification (CPR) required.
• Associate degree in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field required.
• Completion of specialized training in infection prevention and control is required.
• Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC) preferred.
• Certification in Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) required.
• Strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to educate and influence staff at all levels.
