Job summary

State of Washington, Department of Social and Health Services, is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 to care for individuals with developmental disabilities in home settings within the SOCR program. You’ll plan care, coordinate with doctors, and support residents to stay healthy at home.

You will assess health needs, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and update individual care plans while mentoring direct care staff.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State.
• Graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• One year of professional nursing experience or college-level nursing education.
• Knowledge of developmental disabilities and therapeutic care.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess health needs, provide nursing services, and manage individual care plans.
• Hold sick calls, administer medications, and monitor treatments.
• Request physician orders and call in pharmacy refills.
• Pass medications and perform treatments as ordered by physicians.
• Check vital signs and collect samples for lab tests.
• Keep accurate health records and accompany clients to appointments.
• Involve clients and families in care planning and education.
• Train direct care staff to support clients with complex health needs.
