Cynet HealthStaff is seeking an experienced RN for ICU in Merced, CA. This 13-week assignment features 12-hour night shifts, supporting critically ill patients in a 20-bed unit with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio and a charge nurse on each shift.

The role requires ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications, minimum 2 years of ICU experience, and strong IV skills. Expect unit orientation, 24/7 respiratory and pharmacy support, and occasional floating to other units as needed with weekend coverage.

Description:The unit consists of 20 beds, providing critical care to a diverse patient population.Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 to 2.Each shift has a Charge Nurse who serves as a resource and does not take patients.Nurses must read and interpret their own telemetry strips.There is a respiratory therapist available 24/7.Pharmacy services are available 24/7 as well.Traveling staff may be deployed to care for boarded ICU patients in other areas.Floating to various units is required; travelers are the first to float.Weekend work is required for 2 out of the 4 weekends per month.Holiday work is based on unit needs.Nurses will undergo floor-specific orientation.Common diagnoses include sepsis, GI bleeds, and patients recovering from surgery in the ICU.Candidates should be prepared to manage sedatives and critical medications like norepinephrine.A strong commitment to patient care and adaptability to dynamic clinical environments is essential.
